| Description |
Nederlands: Zicht op een deel van het Begijnhof van Breda. Al sinds 1535 ligt deze oase van rust aan de Catharinastraat aan de rand van stadspark Valkenberg. Eerder was er een Begijnhof dichter bij het Kasteel, maar Hendrik III van Nassau liet het uit 1535 stammende hofje verplaatsen naar wat toen nog de Katerstraat heette. Het Begijnhof heeft een kruidentuin met maar liefst driehonderd verschillende (geneeskrachtige) kruiden. Naast het Begijnhof ligt de Waalse Kerk, in 1440 gesticht door Johanna van Polanen, de echtgenote van de eerste Nederlandse Nassau, Graaf Engelbrecht I.
